What's New at Whitney Ranch

Rocklin residents have a number of options when it comes to gym membership.

-    California Family Fitness, a well-known family-oriented club, offers the full spectrum of services from a state-of-the-art fitness center and group classes, to a rock climbing wall, pools and a kid’s area. There are two California Family Fitness locations in Rocklin (one on Warren Dr.; the other on Sunset Blvd.) both offering free 7-day trials.

-Fitness Together also on Sunset Blvd. focuses on personal training and the individual goals of its members.

-Fitness 19 on Lonetree Blvd. is an affordable option for family gym-membership.

-Snap Fitness on Sunset Blvd is a good choice for those who just want a quick, hassle free gym. This location is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

-Curves For Women also has two locations in Rocklin (one on Stanford Ranch Rd., the other on Taylor Rd). Its 30 minute, total-body workout is great for the busy mom and working professional.  

There are also a number of specialized fitness and training facilities including

-Sports Specific Training, Fitness MD, S & B Elite Personal Training‎ and Strock Fitness Personal Training‎. 

-Hardwood Palace promotes itself as the finest multi-purpose sports and events center in Northern California.  The 70,000 square foot air-conditioned facility featureseight maple hardwood courts for a variety of sports. The facility offers youth and adult camps, clinics and training. The also have classes such as Jazzercise, aerobics and yoga. 

Now that it’s cooling off, many residents enjoy exercising outdoors. Whitney Ranch features an extensive network of walking and biking trails and numerous neighborhood parks. Whitney Community Park is a popular spot for Rocklin residents to gather for sport leagues and impromptu match ups alike. The park features lighted softball and baseball fields along with convenient parking, a concession area and restrooms. Whitney Community Park is located south of Whitney High School at the corner of Wildcat Boulevard and Whitney Ranch Parkway.  

For those looking for a group atmosphere, The City of Rocklin offers many classes through its Parks and Recreation department. To learn more about Rocklin Parks and Recreation visit its web page at www.rocklin.ca.us listed under the City Services menu. There residents can find active adult classes, youth sports, adult recreation and much more.

Another great resource for community group fitness is www.WeAreWhitneyRanch.com. The community calendar gives meeting locations and times for groups such as Stroller Strides, a fitness group for moms and their stroller-aged children. The 60-minute total body workout incorporates cardio, strength training and flexibility training.
